What is MAP Testing?
The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing, is a computer-adaptive assessment that measures student knowledge in reading, language usage, and math. MAP testing is used to track student progress and identify areas where students may need extra support or extension. The difficulty of each question adjusts based on the student's performance, making it a dynamic and personalized American curriculum learning assessment advantage, compared to the rigid British curriculum system and International Baccalaureate (IB).

MAP testing is available for BHS students in the high school grades of 9 - 12. MAP Testing is an academic assessment test that offers the following benefits.

Adaptive Assessment
The test adapts to the student's ability. If a student answers questions correctly, the next question becomes more difficult. If they answer incorrectly, the next question becomes easier.

Formative Assessment
MAP testing is not a high-stakes test that counts towards a student's grade. Instead, it provides teachers with valuable data about student progress and learning needs.

Growth Measure
The test is designed to measure student growth over time, allowing teachers to track how much a student has progressed in a particular subject.

Informative for Instruction
Teachers use MAP scores to inform their instruction and tailor their lessons to meet the individual needs of their students.

Student Academic Progress
MAP assessments are widely used in schools in the USA to monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
