ELL Director, Katerina Fenster, in the photo above, is the founder of the ELL Department at BHS.  Under Katerina's leadership, BHS has become the  # 1  secondary school in Europe for English language learning.​

Katerina is a professional philologist who graduated from Moscow State University with a specialization in the English Language and World Literature.

ELL is the "English Language Learner" program at BHS designed for both non-native English speakers and non-English speakers.  Students in the ELL department learn to speak, read and write in English. 

 

BHS is the only international secondary school that provides ELL students with adapted courses in their core subject courses (science, mathematics, social studies, etc.) to match their level of English to ensure the best English language learning for students.

Another important reason why the ELL department at BHS is  #1  in Europe is because our ELL students are also culturally, socially and academically integrated with all the native English speaking BHS students in classes, creating an amazing international community and experience unlike any other school in the world.​

 

At BHS, we welcome non-native English speaking students who want to learn in English and be in a community with native English speakers and international students.
