BHS Child Safeguarding
What is Child Safeguarding?
Child safeguarding means the actions, policies and practices schools use to protect children and young people from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation. At BHS, this means creating an environment where every student feels safe, respected and supported. We believe every young person should be able to grow and learn free from harm. Protecting children is a shared responsibility and one of our top priorities.

Our Safeguarding Commitment

-
We prevent abuse, neglect and misconduct through clear policies, staff training and safe practices.
-
We also provide training to the parents in our community along with all our students to empower them to work together in creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment inside and outside of school.
-
We respond quickly and appropriately to concerns if they arise.
-
We set high expectations for staff, volunteers and all adults working in our community.

Standards We Follow
Our policy is built on international child protection standards and complies with Spanish law (Ley Orgánica 8/2021, which protects minors from violence). It also reflects the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child ensuring students’ rights and well-being are at the heart of everything we do.

What This Means at BHS

-
All staff sign our Code of Conduct and complete child protection training.
-
Concerns about student welfare must always be reported and acted upon.
-
Safeguarding is part of our daily culture, not just a policy.
